This exquisite snapshot of British Natural History features a taxidermy male Common Blackbird (Turdus merula) amongst a branch of handmade spring Hawthorn blossom.
The blackbird is a species that is a much loved, familiar friend in gardens around the UK. I find their flutey, soft melodies coming from the hedgerow a great comfort and I can’t imagine a world without them.
An absolute staple species of the countryside of Britain – a typical scene that I have depicted in oils as the backdrop of this unique taxidermy case.
Case completed with UV resistant, glass look perspex for maximum protection and longevity of both taxidermy and artwork.
